X-Pro1 Diaries: Waiting for the Train

The tracks were still vibrating from the train that left a moment ago, a faint metallic zinging, not unlike a robotic cricket. The morning sun was low in the sky, casting long shadows on the ground, its sticky heat already starting to build up, heralding another hot day ahead.

It was a brief moment of quiet before the main rush hour crowds hit the station.

She prefers to travel a bit earlier for this reason, for this short respite before being thrust into a train full of strangers, each busy trying staring at their phones trying to pretend nobody else existed.
